On the 16th May, the first FOX container, a mobile unit production to produce apple juice, arrived to the Kompetenzzentrum Obstbau Bodensee (KOB) in Germany.
As part of the Food Circle 1 of the FOX project, the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL) presented on the 24 March 2022 the first FOX container. Mr Radoslav Buncic and Dr Haibo Xuan (from KOB) attended the event in DIL, Quackenbrück.
The container unit is fully equipped and yet easy to transport. It can be used locally by farmers and cooperatives and helps to create short supply chains and high-quality products with added value. In this case, the container included the spiral filter press and PEF technology to produce the first FOX apple juice. This was made possible by the opportunity offered by FOX to establish a partnership between DIL, ELEA and KOB.
On the 16 May 2022, the FOX container arrived at KOB by truck. Three scientists from DIL went to KOB as well to set up the production line and helped KOB to produce the first batch of juice. The local newspapers and television carried corresponding interviews and reports (find out more here).
The handover of the FOX container was successful and the unit will remain at KOB for one year.
KOB will be holding various events in autumn, don’t miss out on the opportunity to see the container in person! Check our event calendar.
