The FOXLINK app has been developed to facilitate communication between food scientists, local food suppliers, and consumers. Six regions across Europe creating the 4 Food Circles of the project have produced engaging content (e.g., articles, videos, infographics) on food technology, local community, and regional events.
Moreover, our regional partners have motivated local actors to become part of the FOXLINK: farmers, small producers, local shops are now participating in the app providing information about themselves, their business, and products, allowing consumers to connect and build relationships with their local suppliers.
The FOXLINK further offers an opportunity for local consumers to engage with their local food community through liking, sharing, or commenting on regional content. Further, consumers will be able to take short quizzes about their region and the main topics covered by the FOX project.
After more than a year of intense work, the FOXLINK app has been launched led by EUFIC, Aarhus University, and the regional partners:
- Food Tech Brainport in the Noord-Brabant region in Netherlands,
- KOB in the Lake Constance region in Germany,
- SGGW in the Kuyaviab-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland,
- AGRO CR in the Centra Bohemian region in the Czech Republic,
- CTCPA in the Province Alpes Cote d’Azur in France, and
- AINIA in the Valencia region in Spain.
Engaging consumers at a local level
Commenting on the role of consumers, Dr. Klaus G. Grunert, Professor at Department of Management, founder of the MAPP Centre (Aarhus University), and consumer engagement lead for the FOX project said:
“Why is it so important to engage local consumers? Simply because engaged consumers exhibit enhanced consumer loyalty, satisfaction, empowerment, connection, emotional bonding, trust, and commitment”.
The newly launched FOXLINK app is available for smartphones, tablets, and PC/MAC. It can be downloaded here: https://foxlink.app/
We encourage all our regional partners and stakeholders to promote and share the FOXLINK app with the local community in your regions to create a lively and engaged digital community for all of our Food Circles.
